In today’s episode I speak with Author of The Magic Connection Method and Founder of 7-Figure Millennials Brandon Fong.
As a child, Brandon Fong recognized the value of utilizing his resources.
From being on free and reduced lunch to selling Pokémon cards just to get himself a pair of contacts, Brandon learned at a young age that if he wanted something that he would have to work hard for it.
In order to leverage his career Brandon soon discovered his super power was winning.
Brandon’s love of the process of winning and seeing and helping others win transformed to him eventually helping companies win.
In today’s episode Brandon left us with three tips on how we all can win at outreach emails.
1 - The Hook: reach out, but don’t make it all about you.
The goal of the first email is to get the intended connection to respond so make it all about them! Be sure to use mutual connections, shared experiences, things you’ve learned from them etc.
2 - The Stupid Yes: Inform the intended connection of what’s in it for them.
Here’s a secret…
Companies have limited resources too!
That’s right! So by adding value to them, you can create leverage and even create unique opportunities for yourself!
Make sure to identify how the relationship will add value and become a win-win for both of you.
3 - The No Oriented Questions: We each have a finite amount of times you can say yes in a day, when it’s typically easier to say no, frame the question to have the intended guest answer no.
By this point you’ve made the conversation about the intended connection and added value to them. By doing this you’ve created a larger gap and low resistance in answering your question.
* Most people don’t respond on the first outreach so don’t forget to follow up!
